I'm making a book about a girl in England.Hope you like it!It hasn't been finished,I must warn you!Well,here goes!:
Elizabeth Hutchan pulled her hair up tighter and filled the wash basin with warm water. She washed her face and arms. The year was 1778.Elizabeth's family had stopped drinking tea, even if they lived in England. They had stopped because the war was hitting ####### England. So her family switched to making their own tea.Elizabeth thought it had a bitter taste to it.She rarely drank any.She finished washing her face and put on her work dress. She walked slowly down the stairs and softly. She passed her father's study, listening a brief moment. He was talking to one of his buisness friends. They were talking about King George the III,who was ruling England now.

More: She stiffled a groan and headed for the kitchen to help her mother.Elizabeth looked at the front cover of the newspaper. It said another person had been tared and feathered. She sighed. That had been happening a lot lately."Elizabeth darling, come along," she heared her mother in the kitchen.Elizabeth walked into the kitchen and saw her mother and Rose, their 'helper'.Rose has been with our family a lot and is a dear friend, she thought.Elizabeth's mother was trying to make a pie."Mum,do you need any help?" Elizabeth asked."Oh yes,I need you to make some lemon tarts.Your father's friends are coming over this evening." she said.Elizabeth nodded and went to work. She put on her white starched apron and got out her ingredients.

After she was done, her face had flour all over. She wiped her face on her apron. She looked at her mother, who was still trying to make the pie.Elizabeth laughed."Need help, mum?" she asked. Her mother looked up and shook her head."You go out and play, darling.I'll call you back in when I need you," she said warmly.Elizabeth nodded and ran outside. She had to lift up her dress a little to run.She wished she could wear breeches. She sat on a log by the creek and sighed. Her dress was a little muddy froming running. The other day it had been raining and Elizabeth had to sew.She didn't like sewing too much.

Elizabeth had been stiching a small sampler,it really wasn't really going well. Her mother always said "Elizabeth, stop leting your mind wander off like that. You have to pay attention!" Elizabeth sighed. Her mother said it a lot and looked like she was tired of fixing her mistakes.Elizabeth hardly noticed Rose calling her.Rose tapped her shoulder.Elizabeth looked up."Dear child, what's on your mind?" she asked."Oh Rose,it's nothing. What do you need?" she asked."Well, your mother needs you to pick up some more sugar." Rose said.Elizabeth nodded and ran back into the house.Rose was slowly following.Elizabeth grabbed her cloack and put it on.She stepped outside. She shivered. It was cold.

Elizabeth walked down the brown brick road and came to the General Store. She opened the door. She went up to the huge counter that was like a round table."Oh,lookie here,it's Miss Elizabeth," she heard. She looked up and saw an elderly old man with wrinkles around his eyes."Hello Mr.Wharton," Elizabeth said politely."What do you need this time, lassie?" he asked."Well, mother needs some sygar.Probably a bag," she said. The lederly old man nodded and reached under the counter and pulled out a brown bag.Elizabeth paid him."Thanks," she said with a smile."Tell your mum hi for me," he said.Elizabeth promised she would and left.

Elizabeth passed the milliner's shop and stopped for a second. She stared at a doll in the window is a gorgeous white dress. She sighed. She could never get it.Her mother thought it was vulgar and vain to have a doll.Elizabeth didn't know why.She fingered the doll in the window and sighed again. She started walking back to her house. She opened the door and put her cloak on a chair in the parlor. She walked into the kitchen and handed her mother the sugar."Thanks dear," she heard her mum say.Elizabeth smiled."You know,I saw a gorgeous doll in the window of the milliner's shop," Elizabeth hopefully."That's nice dear," Mrs.Hutchan said.Elizabeth groaned softly. Her mother didn't notice and began to work on her secon pie.Elizabeth excused herself and went upstairs to her room. She flung herself onto her bed,hot tears welling up in her eyes.

Elizabeth heard her mother calling a little while later.Elizabeth washed her face and went downstairs. She found her mother in the parlor.Elizabeth walked in softly. Her mother looked up."Get to work on your sampler," her mother said firmly.Elizabeth and sat down on a chair with her sampler. She squirmed a little. Her mother hardly noticed.Elizabeth sighed and thought about the doll in the milliner's shop, not noticing that she was ruining her smapler. She groaned and un-did it.She heard her mother sigh.A little while later,Elizabeth heard Rose come in with the mail.Elizabeth looked up,staring at her, trying to tell her to get her out of there.Rose nodded."Miss Elizabeth, can you help me with something in the kitchen?" Rose asked her.Elizabeth agreed quickly and followed Rose. They stepped into the kitchen.Elizabeth sighed."What's wrong with mum?" Elizabeth asked Rose.Rose shrugged."I don't know, she must be nervous about tonight," Rose said.Elizabeth looked up at Rose."What do you mean?" Elizabeth asked.Rose closed her mouth into a firm line."Oh nothing," she said.

Ahhhh, thanks for the inform!Yeah, she's almost like her, lol,I didn't know that....Yeah,she has a horse.... More: Elizabeth raised an eyebrow."Rose, there's something you're not telling me," Elizabeth said.Rose sighed."Okay, your mother's just nervous about tonight.Your fathers friends are coming here to check out the house," Rose said sadly.Elizabeth felt like someone had slapped her on the face."I'm going to go outside for a while, tell my mum," Elizabeth ran outside. She ran to her horse,Lucky's paddock.Lucky nuzzled her shoulder as if to say "What's wrong?" Elizabeth patted Lucky's shoulder."Hey girl," she said softly.Lucky neighed and snorted.Elizabeth stepped back and sighed."I'll see you later,I think," Elizabeth said. She ran into the house again and grabbed her cloak in the parlor, seeing her mother wasn't there.Elizabeth walked outside. She heard drums and looked up.

Elizabeth saw Thomas, her friend, pretending he was a solider. He was playing his drum.Elizabeth rolled her eyes."Thomas, you know you'll never be a solider," Elizabeth said.Thomas looked up at her."Sure I will!" he protested.Elizabeth shook her head.Thomas stamped his foot."I will,Elizabeth Hutchan,I promise that!" he said angrily.Elizabeth stared at him."Now don't start with me Thomas Beningfield!" Elizabeth said hotly.Thomas glared at her and stomped off.Elizabeth watched him march off and sighed. She sat down on a bench. Her feet hurt from walking. She watched people walk by,some looked at her. Some waved and said hello.Elizabeth didn't feel better. She saw her father walk out of the General store. He didn't notice Elizabeth. No one ever did.Elizabeth watched him closely. He walked into their house and Elizabeth watched him.She dropped her eyes to the ground.

Elizabeth heard carriges and horses go by,but didn't look up.Then she heard someone sit next to her.She looked up and saw her other friend,Rebecca in a pretty blue dress."Hey Rebecca, what's up?" she asked."Well,my mum is shopping for a new dress for the ballroom dance tommorow evening," Rebecca said, bragging a little.Elizabeth sighed."I might go also," Elizabeth said.Rebecca nodded."Cool,so I'll see you there?" Rebecca said, standing up after spotting her mother.Elizabeth nodded."Good, bye!" Rebecca said, running off.Elizabeth watched her off and stood up.She walked slowly to her house. She opened the door and heard her parents fighting. She saw Rose come out of the kitchen and told Elizabeth to go upstairs."Go on upstairs, dear,I'll be up in a minute," Rose said.Elizabeth nodded and ran upstairs, almost tripping. She wondered what was going on.She sat on her bed.Rose came in a little bit later and gave her a queens cake.Elizabeth just put it on her side table."What's going on Rose?" Elizabeth asked quietly.

Rose patted her shoulder."Oh,dear,it's nothing.Your mother's just a little stressed. She'll be fine in a little while,I promise." Rose said.Elizabeth nodded and sighed."In the meantime,I'll call you down when they've cooled down." Rose said softly, standing up.Elizabeth nodded.Rose straightened her back and walked out the door.Elizabeth sat at her ledge under the windowsill. She looked out the window,it was starting to rain again. She saw the gray sky and looked at the now dull clouds. She watched Lucky trot around her paddock, pawing and snorting franticly.Elizabeth panicked.Lucky hated thunderstorms.Elizabeth ran out of her room and outside. She ran as fast as she could in her dress. When she got to Lucky's paddock, she straightened her mob cap.She then climbed over the fence, which was tough. She landed ####### her feet, she winced.Lucky was running around.Elizabeth groaned."Lucky,it's okay!" Elizabeth said.Lucky trotted over to her and nuzzled her shoulder.Elizabeth stroked her back and put on her lead rope. She led her into the stable."It's okay," Elizabeth whispered.Lucky snorted and pawed the ground.Elizabeth smiled and patted her one more time and quietly left her stall. She whirled around and found herself face to face with her mother. And she didn't look happy.

Just a little note they didn't say "What's up or "Cool" back in 1778. They probably would have said "How are you?" "I'm good". "That's great to hear". etc.
